John is great. My dog tends to be a little reactive with new experiences and is very attached to my wife and I. John took the time to get to know my dog before he took him into the house. A half hour later he sent me a video of him playing with my very happy dog. I recommend him without reservation. Five stars all the way.

When we moved into the area, finding the right dog sitter was a top priority, especially because we have a giant, senior dog (Bernese Mountain Dog) with medical needs (cancer with daily chemotherapy medication required). From the start, Johnny was knowledgeable, patient, and confident. He was already very familiar with our breed and, as it turned out, had worked for a friend of mine with BMD’s, caring for dogs in his kennel, which immediately put us at ease.

We have used Johnny’s services for both daycare and extended vacation stays, and every experience has been consistently positive. Our dogs are well cared for, safe, and happy, and we have complete peace of mind knowing they are in such capable hands. Jonathan is extremely kind and truly cares for each dog that boards with him. From the first time meeting, Jonathan was super professional and walked us through his steps on how he will integrate our dog with other dogs during his stay. Jonathan’s house is super clean and spacious! We received text updates with videos, and photos while we were on vacation. He kept us updated on Ollie’s temperament, food schedule, and bathroom breaks. I would highly recommend Jonathan to other dog owners! We were skeptical we’d find someone who can watch our dog since he’s a big, 100lb puppy so wanted to make sure he was in good hands. Since doing a meet and greet with Johnny, we knew he’d take great care of Maverick!! Our pup is a little stubborn and has some anxiety at first when we drop him off, but Johnny worked with him to make him feel comfortable and provided us with ample updates via text, photos and videos! Mavericks now stayed with Johnny a few times and we have the utmost confidence he’s having a blast and enjoying his stay every time!!

Johnny is literally the best! We have utilized Ruh-Roh Retreat many times and every single time we have been beyond satisfied. Our pug is 10 years old, blind, and diabetic. She requires insulin two times per day, extra care because of her blindness, and can get really bad anxiety. Johnny has gone above and beyond every time for her. He blocked off areas so she wouldn't run into walls, gave her extra cuddles and constantly sent us updates and videos. He plays games with her, and constantly watches over her. He is an expert at giving her all her medication; and gives her extra treats. He took her on walks in a wagon because she gets confused sometimes, and has always treated her like his own fur baby! We are so thankful that Johnny has been such a reliable source for care. We don't trust anyone else with our dog. He even tries to make sure during a meet and greet that a dog is well paired for the dogs he may be taking care of. He is so thorough and very reasonably priced and we are just eternally grateful that we can use his services whenever we need him! Meeting with Johnny of Ruh-Roh Retreat before needing boarding for our pup, helped get us acquainted with him and his home. He is very methodical about how he cares for the pups with their feeding, watering, playtime, walks, naps, and sleeping arrangements. This helps with integrating all the dogs in his care to get along and he cares for only four pups at a time so they are all getting great care and attention. He walks the pups four times daily and they have plenty of time to play, socialize, eat, drink and rest. I was emailed a detailed report of all my dog's activities for each day along with photos and videos. This helped put me at ease and to relax knowing Sunny was being well-cared for and in great hands! I highly recommend Johnny and Ruh-Roh Retreat!

Trudy is so great with my dog! She sent updates and pics daily, and he was so happy soaking up sunshine or cuddling with her on the bed every day. She noticed immediately when he wasn’t feeling well and took him right to the vet.

Johnny is an amazing dog sitter. He is extremely calm and knowledgeable about all types of dogs. Johnny was very attentive and accommodating to our unfixed lab and young adult golden. From the initial meet and greet to pick up after almost spending a week of boarding at Johnny’s, Johnny has been promptly communicative and honest. His environment for the dogs are calm and clean, which is amazingly maintained considering he can take on 4 dogs at any time! Our dogs had their daily doses of interactions/ruckus all while decompressing as needed.

My pup stayed with Maria for a few days while I was out of town, and she had a good time. Maria is very understanding to my pup's needs, and sent me multiple updates throughout the day. I can see from the videos that my pup enjoyed hanging out by Maria, and even asked for pets, which she rarely does with people outside of our family.

We left our senior chihuahua, Chico, with McKenna for a couple of days and she was absolutely wonderful. She has a great dog-friendly backyard that Chico loved exploring (always supervised), and he was safe and secure in a kennel at night.

Chico can be very picky and difficult when it comes to taking medication but McKenna has a ton of experience and made sure he got everything he needed. She also kept us updated with photos throughout his stay which we really appreciated.

McKenna provided an extraordinary experience for my rescue, Sully ♥️ I reached out with several concerns before meeting for the booking, however her expertise quickly put me at ease! She provided the most heart warming updates throughout my goldens stay with her via text and included the sweetest videos! I’ve honestly never seen my boy as happy as he was playing with several of her shepherds who allowed him to baby himself by jumping over/under them and shoving them around playfully 😊
